I like op shops for anything related to kitchens. Every single appliance you could want is there for between one and five dollars! This is a simply unbeatable price!

Yeah I love getting teacups from op shops. Especially those weird coloured glass ones...I like green.

No one else seems to like this thread... :( but I do! Bought a polka-dot high-waisted skirt for $29 yesterday at a 2nd hand shop on Johnston St, Collingwood, that opened 2 weeks ago. I'm wearing it today everyone!

$29 is too pricey. The average price of a skirt at Savers is $5.99. And I find Saver's Frankston has better items and prices than Saver's Dandenong. How have others found the Saver's experience ?

I used to visit Savers on Sydney Rd a fair bit while I was at college, but I find it just takes so long to sort through all the stuff - there's so much of it! So I generally go to smaller second hand stores in the Collingwood/Fitzroy area. It does cost a little more, but otherwise I'd spend my whole Saturday sorting through the huge stores.

For the best second hand Baby and Kids toys, clothes and prams/cots etc. You have to visit the Baby & Kids Markets! They are run all over Australia and the quality and prices are amazing!

Visit www.babykidsmarket.com.au for dates and locations of the next market in your area. I think the next one is Lane Cove Sydney but as mentioned... they have them Australia wide. Great Bargains!

Picked up a second hand chair on the weekend while on a wander far from home...in Malvern, Melbourne. There's a furniture shop on Station St that sells some great stuff, including old bakelite phones.

Garage sales and second-hand stores are my favourite places to shop! Check out the garage sales in your local paper and get out there on the weekend to find yourself a bargain!

I joined www.freecycle.org and give away my unwanted items. Have also picked up some great items for free from other members. You can also give away unwanted working electrical goods that op shops don't take

I love op shoppimg for anything:) mainly clothes(im not really into latest trends) and books.. I am on a website called freecycle, which is a yahoo group. everyone gets rid of unwanted stuff on there. kind of like a swap site i guess.. one mans trash is another mans(or womans) treasure.. I love retro and old well-loved stuff:)

I was just at the Chapel Bazaar yesterday in Prahran. There's heaps of lovely old jewellery and knick knacks, clothes, furniture etc. All second (or third or fourth...) hand, and most of it in excellent condition.

I live in Darwin and also a freecycle member, the best thing got was an up to date motherboard and ram for the computer, runs like a dream. For free! Also I find the small church or school thrift shops the cheapest here. Don't forget school fetes for something different.
