Yes Amazon is not worth the trouble now I say. It's better buying books which you can get in Australia, locally and for more obscure ones going back to Amazon. Although an even better (and free) idea is checking out for your local library (yes that thing!) for the hard to find ones. |

I've found abebooks.com is good for sourcing obscure books, because it tells you exactly where the book is (the state, city and the store that it's in). So if it's in your area you don't even have to order the book over the internet if you don't want to pay shipping charges, you can just go to the store. I did this a couple of months ago and just picked it up from the Grubb Street bookshop. |

The last time I used Amazon to buy some music, it never, ever arrived. I'm not going to buy from Amazon anymore. A cheaper alternative for written work is to buy the audiobooks online or even the PDF eBooks. Although those aren't always legal, so be very careful when acquiring these. |

check out booko.com.au it's a great website that compares prices of books across Australia as well as the good sites overseas (such as BookDepository and Amazon). It converts all prices to Australian and calculates the shipping costs so it makes it really easy to find the best deal. |

Well I visited Booko to compare prices on a book I've been wanting for a while. Guess what - Amazon was still the cheapest! |
